In this tutorial we show you how to navigate to and add shipping rules to Virtuemart. The default shipping plugin that comes with Virtuemart allows us to create shipping rules based off product weight, or the weight of the collective set of products in the cart, and delivery location by Zip code or country for example. We show you how to restrict shipping rules based on the cart minimum value or maximum value, the product category is should apply to or not apply to (blocking categories), restricting to specific shopper groups, or restricting it to specific countries.

We work through an example of setting a weight based shipping cost and how that gets applied and calculated in Virtuemart. We also show you how to set a default shipping rule, to be selected by default at checkout.
