In this tutorial we show you all about multivariants in Virtuemart, where you want to show a product on a single page but with product attributes like sizing or color options for example. This will also show you how to generate child products which is very useful where you want to show a different image for a different product size, colour or other attribute or where you want to manage stock levels based on an attribute which is commonly needed when you have a child product in multiple sizes. 

In our example we create a basic product that is a cotton t-shirt, and then we add a series of child products multi variants to display different sizing and color options. Within Virtuemart, product multivariants are created using custom fields. Before we can create multivariant products, we use the custom fields area to create the various sizing options and colour options needed. Next, we show you how to add the custom fields to the product, and create a set of child products with the variants. For each child product then we show you how to show different images, different pricing and stock for child products.
